Centre for the Studies on Stress, Trauma, and Resilience Carleton University
Focus The focus of our research centre, as the name implies, is to identify the factors that favour the development of stress-related pathology, and concurrently determine the processes that promote resilience.
Intervention & Treatment Many stress-related pathologies are preventable illnesses, and thus efforts are being made to identify interventions that limit their development, and treatment to attenuate existing illnesses.
Outreach Moreover, considerable attention is devoted to community outreach, translating our research to appropriate treatment venues, as well as to inform policy that is derived from our research.
Members Our interdisciplinary members have diverse research approaches, from cells to preclinical models to community-based research. We are committed to knowledge translation and knowledge mobilization and partner with many community-based organizations and individuals with lived experience as knowledge users.
